SIG Kobra CG Balance Point?
I bought an assembled SIG Kobra (19-35 size) at a local RC auction. Once I get an engine and radio in, I'm wondering where this should balance at. Can someone help out? Thanks!

Thanks Mpilot! Nice wreck! I'll try attaching a picture of the one I found - unusual covering scheme here!
What engine are you running in that? I have a OS 40LA out of an old trainer I was wondering if that would work fine - anyone have comments? Thanks.

RE: SIG Kobra CG Balance Point?
I have an OS 32 sx in mine the plane is fast with this engine. your 40 la will work but it is heavy and does not have a lot of power. The plane will need a lot of weight to balance it.
The OS 32 sx is the same size as the OS 25 fx but has the power of the OS 46 fx .
Is this your second plane or do you have flying time in other sport planes? this plane has no bad habits but it fast!
Here is some more photos to do what I did you need to start with a kit or the the plans
and build a new fuse the wing is stock if you want to do this let me know and I can take my plans to Kinkos and make a copy of them.

Mpilot - I thought the same of my engine as well - heavy. I looked on towerhobbies.com and was surprised to find the 32sx and 40la are both 9.5oz w/o muffler. Your 32 does have 20% more power than my 40 though. How was yours for balance? Does your customized fuselage offset any of the weight? Is that back built up balsa? Thanks.

On the fuse. yes the turtle deck is all balsa and is full with so it does not look like it just sitting on top the canopy was for a 1/4 scale lazer cut down. I think the one for laneirs Extra 2.5 would fit better. Here is som e more photos.

RE: SIG Kobra CG Balance Point?
I got mine used as you see it above - from the looks - it was built long ago. You may not be able to tell from the picture, but it's covered in dope. I'd expect it will be heavy. I got it cheap at an auction - will be sticking my old radio and engine in so there's not much investment. If I like it maybe I'll build a lighter one.
Mpilot - to answer an earlier question - I've flown off and on for 15 yrs or so - trainers and shoulder wings. I'll be spending some time on a Great Planes Big Stick before attempting the Kobra - probably next summer.
I may get the fishing scale out to see where this one weighs in at and let you know.
