Default Carl Goldberg extra 300 and engine

Hi,

A friend has a carl goldberg extra 300 kit to sell.
First is this a good kit and flyer? I have seen good and bad comments here about it. I really don`t know what to think.

He said that in the past on a same kit he put a 1.2 glow on it and flew great.
I don`t want to go that big on glow...

What If I were to put a DLE 20 on it or similar? I would be new to gas as well and may want to start small.

Is this a bad idea?

Thanks, I just started browsing some threads quickly.

The one you suggested fits the bill perfectly. 62pages ouch!!!!!

A few people talked about the DLE 20 engine installed in it. I will try to contact a few and see how they ended up.

Thanks a lot, all the best.

Karol in Jamaica is a good guy to ask. I have built several of the kits for myself and customers over the years. Out of all the kit built Extras the CG was by far the best flyer. I have used the YS and OS 120 in them and the YS 140 sport. The plane I still have flys best with the YS. I think Karol has the DLE 20 in his.

I also use the YS120 and 140 in this frame. Great flyer. Have one I picked up w all the goodies like alum gear and fiberglass that will get the 120 and zinger 4 blade hub and 14x7 blades. Great combo on last one. This one i'm planning on finishing in Northern Lights. Love the older Goldberg kits.
