Default oleo struts

Hi! I know I'm asking a lot of questions as of late, but I'm still learning, so here it goes. I'm building a top flite p-40 gold edition kit and I want to put oleo struts on. There are different sizes, anywhere from 100 mm to 180 mm. What length do you guys recommend? Thanks for the help.

If it comes with fixed gear, measure them or the struts of the retracts.

Thanks for the help, I measured and the best I got is 12.5 cm=125mm. Now the next problem. I can get struts in 120mm or 130mm. Which one do I get?

If you are building the .60 size kit it uses the Robart 650 robostrut http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXES65&P=7

you cut the strut to length and then mount it to the retract wire on the robart rotating unit.

doesn't matter what retract body you use air, mechanical, or electric ,when you get the wing built up and the retract body installed you measure the location of the wheel at the well, when you have established the location you then cut the strut to size and use the adapter to mount the strut to the retract body using the strut wire as a connector, its about fitting the strut to the wing you have built not the other way around.

your going to have a bit of variance due to the location of your retract body, when I cut one strut I just make sure the other one is exactly the same.
