Well, my eye sight is pretty bad, but yours must be even worse. Haahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Just went to their website as you almost made me think that I was loosing my mind. Went on the page where they list all of the products that they offer. They have a listing just for " DUMMY ENGINES ".

Kindly try again, I think it is listed under CATALOG. You will find it and you might find what you are looking for.

Granpooba, did you use the 1/4 rotary? If so did you happen to weigh it?

Here is the Mick Reeves one, it looks more detailed but it's 300g

Here is a shot of my third scale DR1 just maidened yesterday.....first take off! Built and covered by Brian Hole and painted by me.
Flies great! I have flown many BUSA kits over the years, including the original Phaeton bipe, swizzle stick, small Taube, big Fly Baby, big Eindecker 1/4 scale Pup, 1/3 scale Nieuport 17, with the most memorable being the both of my 1/3 scale Pups. I might have missed a couple along the way...oh yeah, the Bristol, too.

May I have a number?

Nothing wrong with your eyesight at all Granpooba, though I might now have my sight rechecked, rather embarrassing

I am going to have to say that I am guilty of ignorance. The dummy engine that I purchased is still wrapped as I never unboxed it after it arrived. What I did was through emails I told them exactly what I was building and asked for their expert advise in suggesting a dummy engine for my project.

From what I have been told the Eindecker had a rotary engine, which I assume means that the whole engine rotated around the shaft. They could not supply me with an engine like that, but what they did give me was an engine that only an expert would know the difference.

I also purchase a cowling and cowling cheeks from Fiberglass Specialties, as I did not care for what was supplied in the kit.

I would like to submit my application (in triplicate) for the Balsa USA brotherhood. I have a 1/4 Sopwith Pup built by WWONEGUY and a D7 in kit form with drool markings . I am ever hopeful that I can be accepted into such an organization with such standards and degenerate moral turpitude.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ............... the Ole Aussie Hangover excuse.

Yup, seen that quite a few times in the Crocodile Dundee movies. Hahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

But to tell you the truth, always would have liked to have visited your country. Perhaps someday it will happen. If it does, put one on the Barbie for me, please.

You should come and visit, but Australia isn't really like the croc dundee movies, most of us live in cities much like the USA, but you can travel to remote areas just like the movie. There are tropical areas up north, desert areas (most of the centre section)
and cool forrest areas where it can snow down the south (that's where I am)

Snow ball fights Yea right ! Hahhaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Just turned 71 years old and this past winter went out and purchased all new skis, boots, helmet, goggles, etc. Decided that if we are going to have winters like this, I might as well pursue one of my old sports of skiing.

NOTICE :

Do not know how many of you folks in the Northeast realize this, but on May 17 & 18 their will be a Fun Fly at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome in New York state.

I realize that it may be quite a drive for lots of folks, but it may very well be worth it.

From what I have read, this fun fly is only for vintage & World War I aircraft and aircraft prior to World War II.

Some information can be obtained from the following:

Mr. Warren Batson Email: [email protected]

or :

Yes, that is correct. I can't remember who the pilot was or the country,(when you get old sometimes you forget stuff) but the personal markings were left on the plane and the roundels and rudder were overpainted with German markings. There is some pretty good information in "Nieuports in Action" and also the Windsock Data File on Niueport Fighters.

That's the spirit, you are only as young as you feel.
