I can view through 142, if that helps.

Slow progress is being made on my Cub. The wings have been covered in Natural Solartex.

jwrich, thanks for checking that. I thought that I had been listed but, like the others, I only saw 1 - 99, so thought that I would ask.

Mea culpa... I thought that I was wrong, and I was wrong... :-) :-)

Wish I could cover that good!
I hate to think of the winter but next winter's project is yet another Enforcer...turbine this time. I've been wanting to do one for years!

Thanks, but Solartex is really easy to apply. It goes around curves well, and shrinks with minimal heat.

Balsa USA is the importer, but they've been out of Natural Solartex for some time. Last I heard, they were expecting a shipment soon.

Thanks, Tom. I knew that BUSA had it, but was wondering if someone else also carried it. I appreciate the update.

I've never used that stuff before. At what it costs, I am going to be really careful how I cut it.:-) :-)

How wide is the roll??? I can't find that dimension on the Balsa USA site.

This stuff is fuelproof right out of the wrapper, isn't it??? Is there anything that I should know about applying or finishing it???

Bob

A roll is 27.5" wide.

Solartex is fuel proof, but don't let that fool you into thinking that it doesn't need to be sealed. The covering gets dirty easily. Sealing it makes it easy to clean.

I prefer to use Natural Solartex, which is the one designed for accepting paint. Paint seals the covering, of course, but it also eliminates the issue of finding matching paint for cowls, wheel pants, etc.

For the pre-colored Solartex, many use Nelson's waterborne clear, but automotive clear and epoxy work well, too. I use Minwax Polyurethane, which will yellow over time.

Hi Bob, have you considered Sig Koverall? 60 inches wide by 5 yards is $24,99 or so. Liike 1/4 the price of Solartex. It does not have adhesive or any finish, must use Balsarite or Sig Stikit. Put on like any fabric, then heat shrink and dope or paint. Check out the Sig website and the many threads here on RCU. I love Solartex, but for big builds, cost matters, and the end result is as good with Koverall. Good luck.

Sincerely, Richaed BUSA # 141

Rich, look under Aircraft modeler research, their phone is listed on the site too. Nice people.
his stock was starting toget low too. He said it takes 6 months to get it in, so better stock up if you can afford to.
cheers, bird
