Default ?Identify this plane??

I was wondering if anyone recognizes this airplane???

My buddy just picked it up at an estate sale and is bring it to me so I can get it in the air for him... They said it's an older plane from "back in the day."

Thanks

Wait, isn't a super sportster a tail dragger?

Resembles an Andrews Sportmaster (roughly 60" span), or Andrews Trainermaster (roughly 50" span).

yeah, not a super sportster.. they have a different shape tail and a tail wheel. I don't have it yet, but he quoted me 4' wingspan.

It does look to be an Andrews kit. I had one I bought built in a hobby shop but I let it sit in my dads garage while I was in the Air Force to come home to find it was chewed up by mice. I heard they were great planes! I was told mine was a Sport Master. Looks very close!

Ok guys, the plane has arrived!

It really is beautiful for its age. It's covered in cloth/fabric and painted. Still has one of the vintage servos in the wing.... It has pushrods with tubes instead of solid piano wire. Time was taken to add wing saddle fillets..

I'm working on taking photos to upload tonight.

It was built by:

Roger Kersey of Buford GA

Vintage AMA #19355

My buddy bought the plane from Roger's son at an estate sale.

Engine is an OS .40 SR(ringed) with tuned pipe.... bearings are shot, but compression is good and it turns over freely.. Carb is seized but not rusty...

Agree that it's a Trainermaster! No mistaking the overall shape and lines of the model. Good luck!
