Default Mark's Models Scorpion IV kit

Hello.

My name is Norberto and I'm from Argentina.
I recently bought a original Marks Models Scorpion IV kit. The model is powered by an OS MAX .40 FSR ABC with an APC 10x6 prop. I had initially placed a Enya 40 but it did't work well.
Today was the maiden flight and I must say that the Scorpion has excellent flight !!!
Here you can see the build thread. http://s804.photobucket.com/user/del...0Scorpion%20IV

Looks great Norberto!

This is a very little known kit. Mark did not make them for too long. When I was a boy I always wanted the one I saw in my hobby shop but when I was able to get it, it was gone. Later I bought one from Ebay but it was stolen before I could build it. Your one lucky duck to have found a kit.

Are all the ribs and fuse formers shown on the plans to build from scratch?

Mark once stated that Carl Goldberg "stopped by" his plant while on a business trip. While there he was surprised at the stacks and stacks of Wanderer glider kits ready to be shipped out to distributors. A short while later Goldberg brought out the Gentle Lady kit so Mark designed the Scorpion IV to compete with Goldbergs Falcon 56MKII. He said this kind of stuff happened alot between Manufacturers.

Mike

Hi Mike,
I've drawn all Scorpion's ribs before starting the construction.
The formers are drawn in the plan and they are very easy to cut because they are rectangular.
The plan of the kit is very old and breaks when touched. But I could draw it in Autocad.
You've waited a long time for a Scorpion. If you can wait for me to draw the plan, you'll build it!

Have you seen my photos on the construction of the model?

Best regards,
Norberto

Hi Norberto,
I had a Scorpion IV when I was about 20. That was almost 30 years ago. It was an AWESOME flying plane, and one of my favorites. After about ten years, I crashed it, pushing the limit. I've looked on and off for years for another one. I hadn't seen anything referring to one until I saw yours. Yours looks way better than mine did.

All that I have left of mine is one half of the wing that I couldn't part with. I'd love to build another one. Is there any way I could buy a copy of your plans when you get them redrawn?

No problem Chuck! When I finished the Autocad drawings I can send a copy to you.
