Building a scale 1/4 scale Super Cub from Balsa J3 kit

I have used the pulley servo "arm" myself. However, to maintain the effectively linear motion of the cable off of the pulley to the controlled surface, I have used a similar pulley there also. The angular change of the controlled arm as shown changes the effective distance between the two elements and causes a slack or tight cable condition.

I am guilty of not absorbing all that has been stated! On a cub don't you want aileron differential? I know you can do it with the radio as I have a diferential mix built into my radio and used it on my cub, but if you could do it with the linkage way not. So having the geometry not being equal as long as you have it in the corect direction wouldn't that be desired. I forget if it is more up and less down but something like that right?

So glad your feeling better Leroy. I see even the pox of shingles couldn't keep you out of the shop.
Being sick and building is a drag. But if you can build. Being sick and building beats just being sick.
The wing and ailerons look very nice. Anxious to see your attention to detail hanging and working.

Leroy it is nice to see someone building scale hinge lines. It really only takes imagination, patients, and time, but not really more in context of a scale build. It always amazes me to see beautifully finished planes and the hidiouse push rod and control horn on a beveled control surface, lazy in my opinion

I don't question your experience or build quality. However, a simple graphic layout, of which I am sure you have done may times, will prove that the use of a circumferential cable pulley system cannot be used in conjunction with a simple servo arm and maintain proper geometry. Do the math. I am done and done with this. I am also done with this thread and this bunch of self-centered egoists that will only accept ides from their "fraternity brothers" and exclude other valid ideas. And, you question where all the builders are? They are out here, just tired of you.

Fair to say, he doesn't deserve any more of our time or efforts. I have probably said more than enough!
So, Carry on buddy. You are doing just fine!

Just one more thing BUD, not all, but a lot of 'builders' as you put it, are here! You evidently aren't one because you aren't here...........anymore!
Don't poke me in the eye buddy, I'll spread you out like a pic-nic lunch! Now, go away before you say something STUPID...........STUPID!
Sorry guys, he just pushed my button!
They say duct tape won't fix stupid, but, it sure muffles the sound!
My apologies to you Leroy and to cubman and the rest of the group for displaying my intolerance for insolent people. Can you imagine if everyone thought like him? Whew! He darn sure wouldn't like them either! A butt hole never likes another butt hole! No one likes a mirror reflection of themselves!

Hay Guys
This OLD F#$T is just watching and learning and saving every thing I might be able to use, even though I have been building sense I was 6, so just keep posting those ideas.
Leroy I really like the way you are going at this bash, the way my repairs are going I will not get to my cub till next winter.
Cheers Bob T
