Sig Morrisey Bravo Build
#1151
Well Vince it's about what I expected, detail shows well and the trim is perfect. I don't drool over others work but I do admire it and your perfection in building and finishing is top hat and easy to admire, I might add it's a beautiful airplane in 2 pieces, all together it'll be a knock out to be proud of, well done hardly cuts it. Very

Thanks Leroy and Cliff! I can't expedite the process Cliff, as there is someone currently living in my basement. I'm excited and eager as well to see all the pieces come together as a complete plane... This is also the reason the CG has not been set yet.

It was November 22, 2014 when I first opened the box of my Sig Morrisey Bravo kit, now more than three years have lapsed, and it has finally been completed. The Bravo was designed and built by the late William Morrisey, a noted engineer with Douglass Aircraft. Sadly, only one was ever built and that Bravo was later owned by Hazel Sig and Maxey Hester. Obtaining information to faithfully reproduce scale details was a real challenge.
I will be posting a few things that I still have left to do, but I want to thank all that have waited and followed along patiently. Your interest and responses were more important to me than you know. This build has given me a lot of pleasure and has caused me many a sleepless night deep in thought. If there is a Bravo in your future, I hope that this thread will be helpful to you.
So without further delay, from my home to yours, may I present Sig's Morrisey Bravo. I hope you enjoy seeing her as much as I do...

Words are inadequate. Your Bravo is beautiful. I have been meaning to ask if you ever found the aluminum stock for the tail wheel yolk? If you still need some I may have what you need. If I knew what size a piece you need I would check my supply. If I have it you are welcome to it. Just let me know.

Although the build was three years in the making, you kept the thread interesting. Your model is first rate. Thanks for sharing the experience with us.

After looking at the finished pictures your plane really is one of a kind in all aspects, great design and Mr. Morrisey would likely feel honored that you have built it to such high standards, it's a special one Vincent so feel proud of that.

Vincent,
You have built yourself one good looking airplane.
It represents itself very well and you can surely be proud of it.
I look forward to seeing some video of it in the air this spring!

Leroy, thanks for that pic. Will the dimensions that cardinalflyer (3/4" x 1-1/4") measured be large enough? Yes, please post your tail wheel build here for us all to see and learn.

Vince you will need at least 1-1/4" thickness to have enough to work with. I did a build on Tips & Techniques, I'll see if I can pull that out of there. NOPE, the linky doesn't work but if you google (Build a scale like tail wheel assembly) you will find it here on RCU, go figure ? Anyway try this first.

If you can't locate suitable material to build one, maybe this unit would suffice. 1/4 SCALE TAILWHEEL ? Ohio Superstar Products

Awesome looking plane, we look forward to the maiden. I started building an old Dynaflite Pt-19 kit and will post it sometime in the future. I have modified the wing to be 3 pieces so I will detail how I made my own wing tube sleeves and some other mods.
