Yeah! What he said! by the way, I've been wondering, what are you planning to use for power?

PLANEIAC, welcome back, and thank you for you generous comment... Sorry that the build has stalled, but as soon as my new home is done building will commence.

Thank you too Steve, and to answer your question, a DA-50 will be up front pulling this bird through the air.

Awesome VJ. I just got a DA 50 for my current build and was actually about to go to your last build thread and ask about it. ( I remember you used the same engine there). What prop are you using and what kind of RPM's are you getting? Desert Aircraft left that part blank in the specs page. Right now I'm running a Mej 22-10 and getting about 7500. Does that sound about right to you?

I'll check tonight what I'm running Steve and get back to you. (I've been using a Mej. carbon prop as well.)

Hey Vince, whats going on with your build? Are you still working on the new digs? Haven't seen you over at Roberts build in a while. I got to go to Joe Nall last week for a day as I was visiting my sister who lives about an hour away. What an amazing place and well run event. I am planning to go and fly next year as my 60th birthday present to myself.

Thanks for checking in Cliff. I am still working on my new place, it has turned out more of a remodeling job...The painting has been completed, carpeting removed, and now I'm in the process of installing hardwood flooring throughout the entire first floor. It's a slow process for me. I have been flying and repairing planes for members of my club on the kitchen island, but not much else. I have been monitoring Robert's thread and awaiting his flight report. Sadly in all reality I won't be getting back to my build until the snow flys. Your idea of flying at Joe Nall for your 60th sounds like a lot of fun!

Vince, I can relate after my two to three weekend "quick" bathroom re-tile job! It only started the first week of March and I finished this pass weekend. I ws looking it over and I still found a couple of spots I need to touch up and some grout I missed on a couple tiles!

Well you have a pretty good stable of aircraft right now so when the house is done you will be ready to enjoy it, and concentrate on building. If it gets to be too much I have a brother who's a contractor in Plymouth

Was wondering about you Vincent.
Sounds like you will have a brand new smelling and looking home when you are done.
Something tells my your floor will be laid as meticulous as your air frame skins.

Kevin

Too funny Kevin, you know me well. One of the reasons the flooring has taken me so long to finish...each board was hand drilled then hand nailed, with each nail finding its way into a floor joist. I could have rented a power nailer, but its all about the journey, just like your magnificent table that you built.

What no sanding to true up all the edges? You're slipping!

I thought maybe Vince would be using hand hued boards. Hued by his hands.
Each one fashioned with long suffering patience and love.

TAKE THOSE SHOES OFF BEFORE LIGHTING ON MY FLOOR

Each board meticulously chosen for grain pattern, density, and color with a 12 part had rubbed finish!

You guys are TOOOOOOOOOOOO funny. You know what's REALLY taking so long? Waiting for the trees to mature.

Can't do a thing until that happens.

Vincent,
Hope your floors are about done and you can get back to the Bravo build soon. We, I, am anxiously awaiting more of your pictures and build notes for this bird.
My big RV-4 is ready to be balanced and put back in to service and I am about ready to go back to my scratch built Bravo.
So VJ, put some Miracle Gro on those trees and get your "home" project completed- we need ya.

I read on the elevator plan a note which directs you to balancing before building the stab and fin. Since I don't have the booklet could someone please tell me what it says about balance for that area?
Would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Frank

Hello all, yes I am still alive! I haven't forgotten about all of you or my beloved build... I thought I would give you all an update on where I stand. Last we met, I had sold my home and down sized and bought a condo that I was refurbishing. Wood floors were all laid and the condo was completely painted. Started on the new workshop then...one thing that I didn't account for came into my life, yes a woman! Things have gone so well that we are tying the knot this January! Ok, it gets better, sold the condo and bought a new house almost right next to (within a few miles) the one I just sold. So, with an upcoming wedding and now a house remodel I will have to keep my build on hold for a bit more.

Every time I go down to the basement, I see the current state of my Bravo I stop and say a few word to her and I think of how much I miss visiting with all of you that have followed along.

Love those pics of those Bravos by the way!!!

The Bravo can wait. Your new lady and your home are far more important.
