Ok, I have been doing some work on the project, I have the elevons done(except the tips I am leaving long to match wingtips to). I have started the canards. I could not find the tip ribs in my bag of parts from LDS so I traced and cut out my own, very small pieces. I used the jigs but found the end result to be a little less than desirable. I will live with the results as I have the tips to the proper profile. It seems that the jigs were made to fit when the leading edge and trailing edge are on and shaped?

The root airfoil is a little messed up but by removing the canard from the building board and gluing in the tip ribs in with the sheeting relaxed a bit the rest of the canard looks pretty good.

I couldn't resist mocking up the Crusader using two rudders from a Topflight Corsair.

Thanks FlyFor, I have the top of the fuse done, next I will attach the canards and then glue the fuse to the wing. I will take some pics of my recent progress.

I have joined the canards to the fuse and shaped the wing tips so I think my next move is to glue the fuse to the wing!

Ok, I have the LEX done! I was thinking of giving this bird an electric power plant for a couple of reasons I am not 1 the firewall to fuselage connection is not the strongest. 2 I don't think a dead stick would end well with this bird and 3 the CG would remain constant.

I have decided to glow power it after all though first because I have never done electric before and the capitol cost of all the equipment needed I can spend on another plane and because of the distance of the stabilizers being only 11 inches I am not sure what motor prop combination I could use to make it work.

I think the plane should be balanced with a full tank of fuel? the tank is behind the CG.

Hi Jim, very close, I am going electric on it and just need to mount the battery etc. I have not had much time lately to build and fly as we bought a cabin that needed to be jacked up 24 inches, skirted and all the rest. I am hoping to get back at it soon.
