Sounds fixable, I have never run a diesel, looks pretty cool to me, thanks for sharing, hope you get it back in the air soon. Going to the PAW sight to check it out right now.

Diesels are pretty cool! They'll swing a bigger prop than a comparable glow engine, and burn a lot less fuel doing it. The prop on this plane is a 12.5 x 5, and it turns it with authority! I have a bunch of them, and as a matter of fact, I'm currently building a 1/4 scale Sig Cub with a Super Tigre S90K that has been converted to diesel. Can't wait to run that one!

Is the Super Tigre 90 a Davis Diesel conversion and are they a good place for Diesel engines etc?

Yep, it's a Davis Diesel conversion, and that is all they sell. They don't offer nearly as many different conversions as they used to though. I have a build thread going right now of my 1/4 scale Sig Cub to PA-14 where you can see some pictures of the engine.

I did a bit more Monokoting today, its cold by Texas standards which is slowing me down in my unheated garage.

I have a kit bash of a 1/6 scale SIG Cub into a PA-12 Super Cruiser in the RCScalebuilder.com in the 'other kits' forums. I just need to finish painting it. I converted a Goldberg Cub into a Taylor J-2 Cub which can be found in RCGroups.com in 'fuel- scale airplanes. I'd put links but I am too stupid to know how.... sorry. Have fun looking at them!

P-40, I built mine several years ago, so don't remember to much of the build. I do remember the plan problem. I built mine as a clipped wing, and she is a wonderful flying bird. She has none of the typical Cub's nasty habits. The main thing is to not try and rush it off the ground on take off. She will want to lift before having enough air speed. On landing, fly her all the way to the ground. Don't get to slow, or she will tip stall. Other than that, she will fly super for you.

ARUP: I built a Sig clipped wing 1/6 cub a number of years ago as well Hazel Sig's color scheme. Great flying plane but a little fragile. I had a gas tank leak which drowned my receiver that did it in.

Okay, got a little more done today, I covered the horizontal stab. I'm going to be about a foot short of covering so I ordered a roll from Tower. Local shop did not have a roll of Red in stock and they wonder why I never buy local anymore. Hopefully start wrapping up some odds and ends on this build Sunday. Been working on a bunch of design idea's for the next build this week during the bad weather so working in the garage was a little iffy.

I got quite a bit done today. I installed my new receiver battery, reinstalled the receiver switch, covered my wooden cowl, built the cowl attachment brackets, installed the windows. all went smoothly and look good. Hopefully I will have some pictures shortly.

I_FLY: Thanks I'm happy with the cowl for a first try. Hope to build more of them in future projects. I will have Zero paint in this project.

I finished monokoting my control surfaces, installed all of my control surfaces using CA hinges, finished my engine installation, sealed my wood cowl, and ran an engine test runl. I'm down to linkages and setup, so we should be done soon. Need to rejoin AMA still.

I flew the Cub yesterday for the first time and we did Four successful flights on a beautiful Saturday morning. A few things I want to comment on here though. I forgot to install the engine breather line which was no big deal and I took care of that when I got home. The airplane will not 3 point, CG may an issue here being a little nose heavy, we will need to work on tha. There is way to much flex in the horizontal stab and elevator joint between the to halves. I ended up a bit thin when I sanded them flat which did not help matters. The roll rate is slow even after I cranked up the rates. The Sig cub rolls a lot better because the wing is clipped a bit more. The Magnum 52 puts out about 6 pounds of thrust with a 12/6 prop and flew the plane very well. I also included a couple of pictures of my linkages.
