Default American Eagle B17 Composit

Hey guys I cant belive I took on this project but im excited non the less, I wanted to build one from a kit, but I figured this would give me a head start.

So there was a guy selling this All molded B17 project with in a 2 hour drive from my place at a price I could not resist, did not know the manufactor or anything. Well I posted a picture on facebook, and a nice guy got on and said this was 1 of 3 all composite B17 made off of American Eagle B17 that were supposed to be used in a movie or something, Cool, but I was told it was bigger as the seller said it was the same size as the wingspan 1/9 B17 but its not.

I was orginaly plainning on going with DLE20RA for relieablity and power as I think this one is a little heavy with the all modled on tail etc, but now that I found out its smaller, I feel like my options are less, I cant stand the sound of any of the smaller 2 stroke gassers, and 4 .82 Satio Gassers at $360 each are out of my $$ range on this one. And to be honest Im not the best with tuneing. I do currently have a ESM B25 with 2 ASP 1.80 4c converted to gas with 15X8X3 mas Props and twin syinc controler.

I have been strugleing with power set up for this bird, I have seen pictures of this thing flying with .61 2c to .91 4 Satios, but I think mine will be a little heaver, I see the avarge weight is 42-50 pounds but again, the orginal American Eagle B17 is a foam wing based.... So I have been looking for power set ups for a 14X7X3 MAS prop.

I was told if I converted to electric I would want around 150 watts per pound, and was recomened to use the new Power 60 at 470kv or Rimfire .80 at 500kv on big 6000mah 6s lipos. As it looks like I will need a bunch of nose weight, the lipos make sence, and with 4 motors the electric option is a safer bet, and will make it were I will fly this big bird more often.

But I once had a Hanger 9 B25 with Power 46. set up and I got carried away with the sound system and had 4 speakers on board and still could not hear it in the air well. LOL

So one of my boys suggested something crazy, what about a hi bread? Put electic motors on the out side pods, and 2 4c on the inside pods, that way I can still get some good 4c sound with out all the head ach of trying to get 4 motors to run the same. Pluse with electic motors on the out side, if one of the 4c flame out, it should couse no issues, and I can use the electric motors with some diferantal to help the rudder on the ground. Im sure I can make it work with my DX18.

What you guys think for power set ups?

Now I like that idea . best of both worlds with a built in safety margin for the inevitable flameout .
