I was able to get some red trim on the wheel pants.I sprayed this in the cellar. We are bracing for another Nor Easter this Tues 3/13. Fortunately we are leaving for Fl. this Mon. LOL.
This will give you an idea of the final color scheme. I'm basically duplicating the box scheme.

Looks like the trim is slightly different on each pant. Good thing you only see one side at a time. LOL

Got the top and bottom trim done on the wings. Wind chill yesterday of 5 below. Was able to use a heat gun on it in my garage. I do have some touch ups to do. I used black vinyl electrical tape which is very sticky. Pulled off some of the paint. Hope I can touch it up so it doesn't look too bad. Top of the wing is straight trim. Bottom is scalloped.

Looks great Check Six! I think a little citrus based cleaner will remove the tape residue.

Cleaner won't help. The little white areas is the actual white solartex fabric. If I had used the correct trim masking tape ,which is a blue vinyl tape that is very flexible and low tack, I wouldn't have had a problem. I think 3 M makes it and it's pretty expensive. Next time I will use it and alleviate all my problems. I will be painting the trim on the fuse next.

Got the trim painted on the fuse. I wasn't happy in some spots where the paint interacted and left some blemishes. I can live with it, I'm sure I'll have a lot more once I start flying it. LOL Have to install the trim pin striping tape.

Looks great. Once you have everything installed you'll have to weigh it and let us know.

Hi SwiftBill,
Awesome Job!!! Did you cover it with plastic film?? I'm not to proficient with film covering, all of my planes are fiberglassed. What's the finished weight? What's in it for power?
Thanks,
Fred

Got the canopy fitted and glued in. I faired it in with epoxy and baking soda mixture. I am not happy with the paint job. Rustoleum crinkled a little on the touch up coat. Right now I want to finish it and fly it. Down the road If I still have it I will sand it down and re paint with Krylon paint. I have much better luck with Krylon and dries in 12 min. Should have used that .Anyway, I'm installing the engine and radio gear now, so it's almost ready for flight. Weather is taking a real cold turn. Going down to 8 degrees tonight. This is New England for you. Today it was 55 degrees and sunny tonight 8 degrees.
