Pica 1/6 P40 kit (sort of)
[h=2]Pica 1/6 P40 kit(sort of)[/h]
Hey guys, I have a situation with a Pica 1/6th scale P40 kit that I purchased off of a guy on EBay. He advertised it as a complete Pica kit. It took about 3 weeks for him to ship it which was disappointing seeing as how I paid him right away. Anyways, when I opened the box I discover that it is a Pica kit but with a scaled down Ziroli wing and tail. He didn't mention this in his ad. As far as I can tell all of the wing and tail parts as well as the Pica parts are all there and they are all lazer cut. He included the wing and tail scaled down Ziroli plans. My question is, to some of you, is would you build this kit as it is? I am an experienced builder and am confidant that I can build it but I am a bit concerned about fitment and how it is going to fly. I would appreciate any of your thoughts.

It reads as though the entire Pica kit is there as well as Ziroli parts. Is that correct? Or are the Ziroli parts a substitution? I have heard of mixing and matching parts to get better engineering/ flying qualities. I'm not very familiar with either design but I would suggest finding some of the Pica build threads and examine them for issues with wing construction/flyability.

No, the Pica wing parts were missing, however, after some discussion with him, he is going to laser cut a Pica wing kit from some Pica wing plans he has. I may well decide to build the Ziroli wing. The research I have done so far indicates that it will fit.
