Sig 1/4 Scale J3 Cub w/floats build thread
Here we go again, new project with an old stick build kit. What can I say, I love the smell of balsa and CA in the evening
Yes this will be a Sig 1/4 J3 Cub (again? ) and it will be set up for land and water with Sig floats.
I like to post a lot of pics, comment and questions are welcome.
Let's start!

Good idea putting a little glass on the nose joiner. I'll have
to remember that on my next build. You know this is not a hard
plane to build, just a lot of it. The end results are well worth
the effort.

Looking good. Brings back good memories. Great stick kit that makes a fantastic flyer.
quick thought to share. My last one, I made a 3 piece wing vs 2 like the plans show. Not sure if you have considered. Pretty easy modification by replicating plans 2 pc attachment system.

Surprised you cut the whole bottom out of the cowl, it could have been more enclosed seeing how the engine head doesn't stick out the bottom. Good Idea on the wing tube, you will find out why when you put it together at the field, it's a PITA and need two or three guys to do it.
My plane is a 1/4 scale balsa kit made into a super cub, wings on using the tube as it's only support making it easy to put the struts on by one guy. You might even like making this tail wheel assembly.

Continuing on the build
- finished the tail feathers
- Working on the wings strating with the center section.
- Going to be a three peace wing with a little modification.
