Default Need Help

I just built a TF contender and the wing hardwood mounting block cracked in half while i was drilling it. It look like I have to replace the whole block. Any ideas on how to remove it from the fuselage where it is epoxied? I don't want to rip it off because it might break the fuse.

Think you can just fill it full of epoxy and re-drill it?

Maybe you can just back it up with another piece of same material. If you do try to clamp it in there. The dimension might be a little different to fit where needed. If that works you can add threaded inserts to the whole thing, or better yet, maybe blind nuts to the new piece.

Just ideas, good luck.

Try sawing off even with fuse on inside. Replace with another piece of hardwood. drill couple of 1/8 holes on outside and insert 1/8 dowels or toothpicks to hold.
