Default Goldberg Extra 300

I just got a used Goldberg 300 that had a YS 120 on it. I was thinking about a Super Tiger 90 or an OS 1.08 for it. How good would one of these engines pull it? I also have an OS 91 FS I could use.

It depends on what you are looking for. My dad had one with an OS 91 4-Stroke that flew very well. It didn't have unlimited vertical, but it handled maneuvers very nicely.

Either the 120 or 108 would be your best bet. I fly mine with a Saito 150, it is a bit overpowered with that motor, but it is a great flying plane.

Thanks for the reply. This plane has the radio gear in it and I could put my 91 surpass in it tommorow. I got it from a club member for a sport trainer. It will be my 3 rd plane. I have flown suitcases 40 qhor spad and that was a blast.

I wouldn't change out the YS 120 if it's already mounted. That is one fantastic motor. I have one that I got as a gift from my father-in-law. IMHO it's a great piece of engineering. leave it on there and you should have plenty of power for that plane. I hope it does because I am in the middle of building the CG extra 300 with the YS 120.
Leave it on and fly it.

just my 2 cents worth

Hello; My Goldberg Extra has an OS 91 surpass in it. I did have a Saito 120 in it, but that made the plane a little too heavy. I have seen them with ASP 108's Saito 150's and OS 120's. They all worked pretty well. I originally had a Magnum 65 SE in it but I couldn't stand the amount of fuel it used and traded it for a Saito 80 that wasn't quite enough power for the extra.
