rookie building a corsair
I'm about a year into my first kit, a .60 corsair, and I'm wondering what the max weight should be. I'm using an OS .61 and my total weight as of now is 7.5 lbs. The items not involved during the last weighing are an air kit, batt, fuel tank, Rx, and a couple of servos. I have old robart mechanicals in there now but will go with air. Also since I've never built I'm opting for aluminum monokote with as few coats of lustercote as possible/practical. I'm wanting to have two or three tones, that's why I'm covering w/ paint and I'll also chip paint away at the LE and what-not before flat glossing. All of those things considered, how am I doing on weight as of now?

Your doing good so far !!!
I finished one earlier this year and mine came in at about 10 to 10 1/4 lbs. Pretty much a stock build with the exception of dual alieron servos and hatches for the flap sevos. Beefed up the retract mounts, but wieght gain there was minimal. Covered it in monokote as well.
I am using a different engine set up, but yours will be fine if you can keep it light. Around 10lbs.
I powered mine with a MVVS .77 utilizing a pitts muffler. More than adequate power as I fly it around the sky between 1/2 to 2/3 throttle most of the time. Good luck and have fun !!! [&:]
