Default covering iron

i have just recieved some covers for my iron, they seem to be sown up and i dont want to ruin them , is there some trick ti inserting the iron shoe without tearing the cover ?

If there the same covers I'm thinking of - Lay the iron on the center of the cover and pull the two end strings tight, the cover will form itself around the iron, then knot the two strings to hold.

Yep, you don't 'insert' the iron into the sock so to speak. Just lay the sock flat with the strings facing up, then place the iron on top of the sock and tighten the strings into a knot like jafrh said.

Default sock?

makes ya wonder why they call it a sock don't it? it should be called a drawstring iron cover first one i had i put it on iron like a sock..lmao boy did that look nice.. :spinnyeye -Tinman-
