need help with a su-26 sukhoi
i have a sukhoi-26 i have the wings built but not covered and thats what i am having a problem with. This is my first model that came with blueprints but no instruction booklet. I printed a manual off of akmodels site but it doesn't have any pictures and doesn't say in very good detail what to do. Do I cover the whole wing or the top, bottom or what to do.
please post any suggestions

You need to cover every part of the model or apply some other fuel proof sealant. The covering you are using should have come with instructions which will give you a basic idea of what to do. Generally, you will cover the bottom of the wing first and the top second. This makes the seams all face downward so they are less visible.

I just downloaded the instructions for the SU-26 from AKM's web site. I do not see any reference to covering, or sheeting, the wing with ply or plywood. In the section dealing with building the wing, steps 12 - 16 discuss gluing the leading edge and center section 3/32" balsa sheeting. 17 says to install the 3/32" cap strips followed by 20 - 27 instructing to sheet the bottom of the wing in the same manner as the top. Lastly, 37 says to glue the fiberglass tape around the wing joint after you have joined the wing.
Based on this, I'm afraid I can't help much. You might want to try emailing AKModels to see what they can offer.
Good luck,
John

Ak models sent me an email back saying that to cut and fit the sheeting on the wing you must mark both ends of the sheeting when it is laying on te wing. after you have marked both ends of the ply you must use a long straight edge to cut the ply at a taper it fit well. I will try to send tome pictures later of what i have done.
