Default Gluing fiberglass

I am installing the formers inside the fiberglass fuselage for a Byron Originals Ryan STA. The instructions say to go around the formers with fiberglass cloth soaked in polyester resin, what a mess! It would be so much quicker and easier if could just run a bead of glue around the front and back of each former. There are a lot of new glues on the market, e.g., Gorilla Glue, etc. that claim to glue anything. Does anyone know one that will stick well to the inside of a fiberglass fuselage?

Aeropoxy from BVM Jets, or Hobbypoxy from Art's hobby. Both work great for glueing formers.

I second the suggestion of the Aeropoxy that BCJETJOCK suggested.

Lightly sand fiberglass parts before attempting to glue anything to them... doesn't matter how good the glue is... if the fberglass has a slick surface... it doesn't stick well.

FHHuber, good point. That reminds me of another must do before gluing....... clean the surface to be glued with alcohol before sanding to remove any wax or mold release from the layup process. If you forget this step, you may work the wax or mold release into the fiberglass structure.

Goop bonds very well to fibre glass. Never had a joint fail on Yellow Cap 10 B even after a few prangs.

About the sanding, sand it and make sure there is no shiney part to it at all, leave the sanding marks, don't sand it to smooth, then clean it with acetone or something similar before you glue. The parts will stick good then. If you don't sand it, you chance having the glue not stick.
