Four Star 40 wing joint
OK maybe I'm being a bit of a perfectionist here but I have my wing halves built and when i place them together there are small gaps some places (no doubt due to my wonderful sanding job ). What is the best way to fix these??

RE: Four Star 40 wing joint
If they are small, just fill them with epoxy. If they are larger, epoxy some scrap sheeting in there and sand flush. If you can fit anything thicker than 1/8" sheeting in there, learn how to sand better "D
And don't worry about it, we all get gaps (And to those guys that are saying "I Don't" - You are Anal Retentive and should seek counseling)

Easy way to sand the wings flat (square) at the joiner is to put the sand paper on the table! Gaps are usually caused because your sanding block is too short or not wide enough. I use 2-1/2" wide self adhesive sandpaper and adhere it to my table. This gives me a solid area and it is quite easy to sand the wing flat because you're gripping the whole wing instead of a small sanding block.
If you still have low areas I'd fill it with 1/16" sheet balsa. Sand it and when everything is flat I'd harden the added balsa with CA if you feel it needs it. Otherwise just use 30 minute epoxy for the joiner and make sure you have a good coating on the wing plates. Then make sure you use 3" fiberglass tape, epoxied around the joint and you will not have any problems.
Using epoxy to fill the craters is awful hard to sand smooth.
