RE: .40 size CAP
Thanks bhole 74,
Your bird really looks nice!
The plane is for friend who is really an ARF kinda guy. I've gotten two positive comments about the Great Planes kit but he still is holding out for an ARF. I could help him build but I'm tied up right now.
I told him to go look for a used one. Says he don't want a used plane. Says its like buying use underware. Says it just don't feel right.
Does anyone make a .40 size CAP ARF?
See ya,
JIM

The gp .40 cap builds very quickly and easily. Mine just needs to be covered, then we will see how it flys. I am putting an os .50sx out front.

Kyosho makes one which is a tad smaller 32-40, 55" span. Retails for $199 at Tower.[link]http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXS641&P=0[/link]

Brian,
I like your color scheme. And I notice that the color of the cowl matches very closely with the fuslage covering.
Did you try spray painting of the ABS cowl or did you cover the cowl with the same covering ?
The color matching between the cowl and fuslage is the most difficult part for me.

Believe it or not, it is Lusterkote. I agree with everyone who says Lusterkote is tricky to spray. I spray paint for a living so this may give me a bit of an advantge. The colors are white and Metallic plum. The plum paint is very close in color but up close you can see a difference due to the metal flake in the paint. This is normal for metallic colors due to the film looks more like annodized aluminum rather than containing a metal flake. I personally have been happy with Lustercoat and have had good results.

Yellow aircraft makes a nice ARF of the Cap. They say it's a 30 size. It has a 54" wingspan. These are very nice ARFs.
I guy at my field flew the 30 size extra. Great flying plane - and looks even better.
