Default How to put two servo's in Ultimate Bipe wing...?

Hi All,

I'm building a CG Ultimate and want to use servos on each half of the bottom wing. Can anyone gimmie some pointers on how to construct the servo mounts for each wing half(pics of the process would be GREAT!)?

Best,
Harold

There are many ways to do it, here's one method.

Make a plywood mount that attaches to the main spar, at least 1 rib, and then a second "spar" that you would have to add between two ribs. (See Pic).
Then cover the two ribs with one sheet of balsa instead of two cap strips.

The Ultimate wings are so thin you almost have to side mount(laying down) the servos. I like the BVM CF mounts you can get. Easy enough. Have to mount a piece of liteply between the 2 ribs, follow the directions for the mount. Then make a hatch cover. Seems on mine(years ago) the cover wasn't quite flush with the wing due to the thinness of the wing.

Or consider JR7005 low profile servos with the setup recommended.

Good luck.

Default low profile servos....

I was actually considering the Hitec HS-77BB low profile. I've kinda become a Hitec fan with my last two planes due to cost and performance. I've been very pleased and my wallet is a little heavier to boot! :-)

Any opinions on the HS77's out there?

Thanks,
Harold
