If you have an abs plastic cowl that came with the kit, you could sand the inside and lay in fiberglass. I did this on the cowl of my GP Cub 40, it worked great. It greatly strengthened it while keeping the smooth outer surface for painting.

I do have it but i did a crappy job of cutting it out so i was going to get a new one, but someone said they got a fiberglass one in one of my previous posts so...
