Default VK Corben Super Ace

Howdy all,

Just picked up a VK Corben Super Ace at a garage sale. It is the 56 inch .35 to .46 sized kit. Everything looks to be here and in great shape for a kit from 1973! Anybody have advice on the kit? The cowl is just to cool to butcher up for an glow engine so I may go electric.

Would love to hear any comments or stories as to how anybody elses turned out.

i have the vk corbin ace kit in 40 size. i duplicated the kit and built it that way. didn't want to ruin an antique kit. it flies very well, trickey on take off but a joy to putter around.

Froghair,

What engine did you use? I have been contemplating all summer about an old but healthy OS 40 FP or going electric. I like the idea of duplicating and saving the original.

Have been doing a little research online too. Seems your apraisal of the model is pretty much the same as the original full size. A handfull on take off and landing becasue of poor visibility but a decent little airplane in the air.
