Default replacing large Decals

Hey Guys:

My LT-40 went through a minor crash. Part of the fun included shooting arrows at my plane, trying to retrieve it.

I built the Kit version of the plane, and applied the large decals along both sides of the fuselage that give the LT-40 its red/blue stripes.

Part of my crash repair includes patching the monokote on the right side of the fuselage. I want my plane to continue to look decent, and would like to replace that decal. One idea is to purchase a new decal and cut it.....to create a "patch" for that decal. That would be acceptable.

My first thought was to remove the entire decal and replace all of it...and I wanted to ask you guys.... Is there any easy way to remove a decal from a kit? What do you guys think?

Default RE: replacing large Decals

A slight amount of heat will loosen the adhesive on mylar decals. Pull slowly. Clean any adhesive with ether or acetone.
