CHASRB, that's a sweet looking plane, can't wait to build mine. What did you use for flying wires on the tail??

Hi Joe, I used 4-40 rod with thread on one end so I could custom fit the length and use a solder link, if you'd like I'll post pics of the setup as well as the tailwheel.

Thanks for the complement.

Not to hijack the thread, but it would be nice to see your setup, pm me the pictures or post them here if the thread owner doesn't mind, also, would 2-56 rod work just to save weight, I have them on my Sig SE, nice setup.

I think you should have suggested a new thread if you want to talk about something other than the Lanier Ultimate Pitts.

Just good etiquette.

You are correct, at least they are from the same mfg. which makes the digression germane. We should move to the 1/4 Laser 200 Lanier forum if we want to continue.

Keep it real light!!! I made mine way to heavy wth a FEMA onboard starter and all, ended up folding the landing gear back into the wing which threw the CG of in all directions but one, the ground. So I lost mine..I'd build another if had more time.

Are you flying out of NW Houston? I used to live in Norchester off Jones road.

May the sun always be at your back while you fly!

Keep it light, including the motor. I had a Roto 35 in mine and it was way to heavy. I switched to a Saito 180 and it flew much better. I wish this plane had a wider wing cord and larger ailerons, I think that would really make this plane a great flyer.

Well I'm all done covering mine in the base color, and about to start on the trim design this weekend. I elongated the ailerons (I used 1 3/4" aileron stock) and went from one rib in from the fuse out to one rib from the wingtip. I put ailerons on all 4 sides and I'll be using a CF linkage to connect them and use one digital servo (140 oz torque) per side. I'll post pictures when I get the cowl painted and the trim on
