This is before I got it covered. Build was pretty easy and strait forward. Balsa seemed good quality. The sheeting on the wing root on the bottom near the trailing edge was confusing.

Heres what she looks like all covered up and fitting the struts. Also fitted flying wires on the top of the horizontal stab. I bought a different tail wheel and put pull-pull cables in.

Here are some more pics with it all covered and fitting the struts. Haven't put windows in yet, I want to get the radio and fuel tank in first.

Here it is with all the flying wires on. Engine is almost all ready to go. I need to get a muffler yet. Got the rudder hooked up on a pull-pull sytem also. It really takes the slop out of control surfaces. Some nice shots of the tail.

Great job!!! I was woundering if you could post a picture of the servo tray? I also have the CG Cub, But I don't have the servo tray for it. If you have the plans and could give me some details, That would be great.

goplaneman I dont have the plans for the thing either. Its been a while since I started this project and they got lost after I got the wings and fuselage done. As fas as the servo tray goes I took three pieces of 1/8 inch plywood and used them for the servo tray. take a look at the picture. I glued them to the rails that run longintudnally inside the fuse.

rcdude37 my next project, the ultra sport 40 + is goin to be a great addition to the hanger since I need a larger and nicer sport/pattern flyer. As for the cub I am going to give it to my dad after I fly it. I can't wait to see his reaction when he sees it this christmas. I am also thinkin of building a scratch built older Cessna 150 (strait tail & fastback) foam core wing and fuselage fiberglassed some where between 80-100 inches symetrical foil that I can slit in half for easy transportation. I am going to power it with a homelite 33 cc gas engine. It will look like my life size Cessna 150 in the picture.

Weekendflyer the struts are made of wood from rectangular stock that I shapped into struts with a razor planer and sanded smooth. I also used some small wooden dowl for the bracing between the forward and aft stut. This is what they look like. I haven't painted them yet.

Brings back memories. My first kit was a CG Cub in 1986. Utilized my wifes ironing board until epoxy, CA and wife got out of control. Have built many planes since in workshop.
Good looking Cub

If you attach wing struts as plans call for, they will probably come loose in flight and be damaged upon landing.
Good luck

beautiful job however i do have one major problem. apparently you have not been informed that it is a sin to put anything but a four stroke or gas powered into a cub. that sure looks like a 2 stroke glow to me. such a shame. one other rule about cubs is at one point or another they must fly with floats. but in all seriousness it looks great. about to build one myself.
