CALLING ALL BI-PLANE EXPERTS!! Who Makes This Kit?
I bought this plane at a local hobby/pawn shop. I was wanting to know who makes it. It seems to be in very good shape. Here are the specs:
Top Wing Wingspan: 65”
Bottom Wing Wingspan: 65”
Fuselage Length (from cowl to end of rudder): roughly 47.5”
I hope this is enough info. Take a look at the firewall LEAD WEIGHT!! I also found a ton of lead weight in the tank compartment. It had a total of xx oz. of lead. I am removing all the lead weight. I am also wanting to use a Zenoah G-26. I wanted to use this engine because it seems to be very similar in performance to the Saito 1.50 but is XX oz. heavier and $60.00 cheaper. I think I will need the extra nose weight to balance the plane properly. The last thing I want to do is add lead weight. I hate having to do that, unless I really have to. I am removing all the old fabric covering and recovering again with monokote. I thought it would be a nice summer project. By the way, I only paid $125.00 for it. As soon as I get the thing uncovered completely, I will post some more pics.
Thanks in advance for your help guys!!

chances are that the builder added the lead to simulate an engine and equipment. does it balance with all the lead? no other known reason. strip it and proceed. dick
