Default Cowl for 4*120 ??

Hi,

I'm going to be building a 4*120 and was wondering if anyone knows if any cowls from any ARF planes or kits will fit this with minimal modification? I will be putting a SuperTigre G2300 in this but am not sure yet weather I will be mounting it upright or on its side.....maybe even inverted...but I will decide on that when the time comes. I know one can be made with balsa but I don't want to have to do that unless absolutely necessary. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Adam

I used a Great planes 60 sized cub cowl had to widen the fuse 1/2 inch . It hides the Ryobi very well.

Thanks for the reply Randy. Just got the kit today and was looking over the plans getting and idea of the mods I can do to improve on it. With the dimensions at hand it will be easier to figure something out.

Thanks,

Adam

(begin shameless plug) try www.stansfibertech.com for custom cowls, he may not have it listed, but he may be able hook you up anyway. The quality and price are right on as well. (end shameless plug)

This is a four star 60 I just finished. You can make the same noise modification to the 120. You cut off the cheeks and build a cowl that fits perfectly to your engine. It takes a little time but its not hard and the final results turns out pretty nice? I found the instructions on how its done on the web and I believe I have a copy if you want them.

Hi mobi,

That plane is SWEET !!! Looks really nice. I acrtually have a link for that site... I think it's Tom Pierce's. I'm keeping that as an option, but I'm trying to avoid having to do that if I can.....but it's not totally out of the question.

Thanks,

Adam

I could copy them for you....but I'm not sure how I would because my scanner is much smaller thean the plans. If you have an idea .....I would be more than happy to. They are a bit beat up, but more than acurately useable.

I live near a contracting business that has those blueprint printers or whatever they are called. I know that they can copy them. Email me direct if you want to do it that way.
