Career Opportunity- Research and Development Technician
Horizon Hobby has a career opportunity for a full time Research and Development Technician- Aircraft Specialist.
Job Description-
1. Evaluate the design, quality and overall acceptability of prototype proprietary products for the aircraft category.
2. Test-fly prototype aircraft, evaluate flight characteristics and suggest changes needed to bring flight performance to the brand’s standards.
3. Write detailed reports which include building issues, specifications, flight characteristics, suggested changes, etc.
4. On occasion evaluate surface related R/C products (i.e. cars, boats, charger’s, speed controllers, etc).
5. Write and maintain standardized testing procedures for all types of products.
Qualified candidates must have the following-
1. A minimum of 3 years of R/C experience with emphasis on Radio Control aircraft is required. Experience that includes extensive building and flying of all types of airplanes and a good working knowledge of all types of R/C aircraft and support equipment is a must.
2. The candidate must have a thorough understanding of all systems related to R/C aircraft including engines (gas, glow, 4 cycle and electric), radio systems, linkages, fuel systems, etc.
3. Computer skills including Microsoft Word and other word processing programs are a must. CAD experience is a plus.
4. A self-starter with solid organizational and planning skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects is a must.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
