I have it and it flys very well. I did put a 40 on it instead of the 25 and I'm glad I did.

You should be able to see a picture of it on my website.

any problems with the materials that they sent you? what engine did you put in it? how well does it fly in rough water?

WW2,

I didn't have any problems with the materials from the kit except the hardware for the floats is pretty cheap. I went to our local TSC (Tractor Supply Co.) and bought some heaver aluminum for the float struts.
ORIGINAL: WW2

I put the OS 40 on it and I really don't fly in rough waters. I found that once I get some speed going I have to put a little down elevator to get the plane on the steps of the floats and then off I go into the wild blue.

When I come in for a landing I do have to come in faster with the float plane than I do with one of my ground planes. Other than that I like the way it lands.

I do think a water rudder is a BIG benefit for taxing the plane. I tried with and without the water rudder and I decided to keep the water rudder on.

Hope this helps.

The plane can loop, roll, and I have even flown it inverted for short periods of time.

It sure does look funny when the floats are on the top of the plane though.

WW2,

Here is a link to a video I did with the Bee Gee. The quality is not very good because the camera only had a 300 foot range. I am going to upgrade the camera soon and try again.

http://www.glenoaks.edu/ed/movies/BeeGee1.wmv

If the video won't play, right click on the above link and save it to your PC and then play it.

I know there has been some issues with Windows Media Player 9.0 not working with some of the .wmv movies from the web, but if you download it then the movie plays.

that video looks really neet with the camera on the plane but i think it would look neeter if it was on the front.

Thanks again

i used an la 40 engine on mine and it flies real good. had to use heavier aluminum on the floats though. used a water rudder. built this plane about four years ago so the details are fuzzy. i can't remember having to replace any wood. have flown it off some fairly rough water about a twenty foot takeoof. on dead calm water about fifty foot takeoff. only about a four page manual. used a six ounce grat planes tank with a dave brown mount. if memory serves me correct there was no control throws listed on the plans or the manual maybe some one can help.i have probly seventy five flights off snow with it and probably another seventy five flights off water on it including some pretty strong winds. all in all i think it is an excellent flier especially for the price.
