JGspeed, I love the color scheme. Terrific job. It appears you did an excellent job with the trim cuts. For an old f***, you did great.

RE: Good covering jobs!
Thanks Jim & Joe,
As soon as it's warm enough out to paint, I want to try some artwork with paint on the underside of the wing right now it's a boring yellow.

Woops: Truly a work of art. It's great.
The design is very unique, I've not seen another like it. I love the use of the stars, the choice of color.
MERRY CHRISTMAS, to you and yours.

RE: Good covering jobs!
Joe,
Sorry for the slow reply, I haven't been around for a while. I've got tons of dope to use up, so that's what I'll use on the paint job. I did a test patch with dope over monokote to check durability and it held up well even when shrinking and reshrinking the covering. You just have to be careful with the heat and if you try to iron it, you need a pad between the dope and iron.

This is my Sig Kobra with an O.S. .32sx in the nose
I will have the same flame scheme on the tail and maybe a few on the fuse, haven't decided yet.
While I am here i might as well ask how to keep some of the flame tips down? When cleaning some of them want to peel up
It is white monokote with orange orocover
thank you for your help hope you like the pics

First one you say? Man, I can't wait to see your next one! A fine job! Is that machine cut vinyl, or are you a natural with Monokote?

RE: Good covering jobs!
I'm almost embarassed to post these after looking at that Ultimate's cover job! Great job loganjoel!!!
Here's my first cover attempt. I used Royal Blue & White Monokote on an SSE. The squares are 1-1/4" on the tail & 3" on the wings.
I went with a psuedo stock scheme and stole (uh, was inspired) by some of the other SSE pictures on RCU to do the checkers.
Here's a [link=http://www.uwood.net/video/rc/SSE1.wmv]video[/link] of it in the air.

RE: Good covering jobs!
No deadeye, none of this is machine cut. Just hours of scissor work. I covered it with ultracote and the ultimate on the top wing and on the tail are the factory decals, everything else is cut by hand. It was worth it I think be boy do my fingers hurt! LOL!!!
Thanks for all of the compliments guys. Can't wait to see it in the air.

RE: Good covering jobs!
Oh, By the way that is a very nice looking sse tuwood! My son and I are helping my dad put a SSE together and should be done with it this week. He is still undecided about the covering sceme though. I like the way yours turned out, maybe I'll show him yours and maybe spark some interest in a similar sceme.
Very nice job!

RE: Good covering jobs!
This is my second plane, a FourStar 60 with a few modifications. I liked the Cub yellow and dark blue Monokote another modeler used on his Fourstar Crop Duster. I really hope she survives her maiden flight!

RE: Good covering jobs!
Just got done with my GP Super Skybolt. Did a number of mods (double cowl, Sullivan gear, smoke system, etc). Maiden is whenever the weather clears up.
