RE: best J-3 CUB KIT . 40 - 90
I have a Sig 1/5 J-3 that I'm going to start soon, and I'm trying to decide which engine to use. I have both a Saito FA-60T and FA-90T (not the FA-90TS). I'm really leaning towards the 90, but I think the 60 will also do the trick. The 90 is 1.9oz heavier, which is not a lot when you think about it...I would just move the battery pack rearwards by a couple inches. The 90T is 2cm shorter, but wider by 1.9 cm. The 90T also has a vane pump and a dual carb setup. The 60T has a single carb, which simplifies tuning. So I think the deciding factor would be fit...anyone know what Sig recommends for length from firewall to thrust washer?
I bought both engine used, but you can tell neither has ever been started, and were NIB. I'm going to sell the one I don't use.
Help!!!

OK...I measured the plans. It looks like the cowl is about 4 3/8 from the firewall. The 60T is about 4.75, and the 90T is about 4.25. Looks like the 90T is the choice. Any suggestions for fitting the 60T?
