aileron torque rod question
Hi Folks,
Builing a Venture 60 and am using dual aileron servos. Can I just leave the aileron torque rods out altogether? Or do I need to install 'em for aileron stability? If they do need to be installed, do you just cut off the excess sticking up from the torque rod block? Thanks for the help.

RE: aileron torque rod question
Like most kits that use aileron torque rods, you can leave them out altogether. I put dual servos on a Super Sportster 60 and left out the tordue rods and it was fine, until the Rx went out in mid flight.[:'(]

You could leave them in too. Either way. You can mount your two servos side by side under the wing each controlling a surface via the torque rods. Or you can put them out on the wings to control the surfaces directly.

RE: aileron torque rod question
Thanks for the help guys. I was afraid that by not adding the torque rods, the stability of the aileron might be affected...I'm gonna use CA hinges, but I'm guessing with the small gap between the TE and aileron, probably nothing to worry about.
