TF P-47 GS
Hey you TF P-47 GS builders and flyers, I have a question.
I built mine as a bubble top and my question is does that spine that goes from
the leading edge of the vertical stab along the top of the fuse help the stability
of the model any?
I am asking because most, if not all of the full size P-47Ds I have seen in pictures
dont have this. The leading edge of the vertical stab goes right down to the fuse
and stops. This is already installed on my P-47 but I was thinking about removing
it. Am I asking for trouble here?

RE: TF P-47 GS
In all probability, you can get away without the dorsal fin. On full-size aircraft, they were added to correct handling difficulties or remove a bit of tail wag. The original P-51's didn't have them, but when they went to the bubble, it was found to be necessary. Same with the P-47. On the model, it's small enough that you likely won't notice a thing.

RE: TF P-47 GS
I read somewhere that when they made the p51 a bubble canopy, they had to make the rudder larger for the air curving over the bubble. I don't know if TF took this into consideration. I plan to buy that kit next week and I have heard the same question before. Wish someone would really answer that question.
