Can someone tell me how far I should mount the engine from the firewall? Most kits give a deminsion from the prop hub back to the fire wall. I can not find this anywhere. I am mounting a FP40. I hope it is not to much?

Well, looking at the plans, the front of the cowl measures 2-13/16" from the firewall. Mounting the engine with the prop hub 3" from the firewall would give you 3/16" clearance between cowl & prop. That would seem reasonable, wouldn't it?
