Default .40 sized corsair Kit

Could I get some comments on .40 sized corsair kits. The only one I know of is the Great Planes one. Are there any others? I have a gms .47 which needs a plane. Thanks.

Default 40 size Corsairs

Kyosho, www.kyosho.com, makes a nice 40 size Corsair, but it is pretty pricy. Tower Hobbies sells it at $299. It is a ARF and looks to be very scale. The fuselage and the center section of the gull wing are made of a fiberglass reinforced plastic and gives the wing the right "bend" and not the broken wing look of other kits.
Lanier also makes a 40 size Corsair. See it at: www.lanierRC.com
This one is also a ARF and Tower has it for $209. World Models Manufacturing Co. makes a fiberglass ARF 40 size Corsair. It is
sometimes found under the importer's brand name of Airborne
Models and can be seen at their website: www.airbornemodels.com
Finally, Global makes what I think is the best looking 40 size Corsair. You can read a thorough review of it at Model Airplane News' website. The best feature of this ARF is the wing. It is fully built as one piece. No joining of wing halves. Also, the covering is awesome with all stenciling and markings already applied. Read the review and you might also agree that the Global "whistling-
death" is the best of them all.

You might also check Hobby Hangar for the imported Maratuka
kits. I believe they might carry a Corsair in that size. Other
than that I can't think of any 40 size kits other than arfs. I have
the Great Planes Corsair and it is a great flyer but not much for
scale. Another option might be to pick up an older kit of the
Dynaflite Corsair as I understand they were good flyers.

Good luck

Marutaka Kits are available from hobbybarn.com not Hobby Hanger.

I had the Dynaflite Corsair (out of production I think) and it did fly, but not well. That flat bottom wing made it too floaty--hard to land. It was also one of the least scale Corsairs I've seen.

OOPS! My mistake! also it appears that the Maratuka kit is more
of a 60 size kit than a 40.

Sorry about that!
