Default Lanier 80" Cap 232

Anyone built this kit recently? Is it laser cut? Have they upgraded to glass cowls-- or still using cheap ABS plastic? Whats it weigh with a 50-60cc gasser?
Thanks

The kit still has the ABS cowl and wheel pants. The lazer cut parts are very good and if you use a G-62 it will end up in the 17-18lb range. They fly very good.

hi, if you have the kit, of the lanier cap 232, could you give me the lenght of the canopy as I have I think a plane given to me which I think is a lanier kit, and needs a new canopy. but the lenght and witdh of the canopy would confirm it for me and then I could order the canopy from Lanier.
thanks MGA

mga;
Mine is in storage at the moment, but there are definite qualities of the lanier kit. One- The wing span is 81 inches. Two- the stab-elevators and fin-rudder are full flying surfaces and not removable. Three- all elevator and rudder servos are designed to be installed in the tail. Four- the cowl is installed via a cowl ring with two lower bolts installed from the front (engine side) and the two upper bolts are installed from inside the fuse. The canopy and hatch have two big round punchouts glued to the front to lock the deck in, instead of pins. Hope this helps.

I have the big round punch out, I ordered the canopy from Lanier and got it today. It fits perfectly. Now since I do not have the plans, could someone give me the measurements of the CG, that would help greatly. also would a First Place 2.4 40cc fly this plane. I have lightened it up a great deal. right now I do not know the wieght.
Thanks MGA

Go to the Lanier website, they have their instruction manuals for you to download them.
