Phaeton 90 - reviews HELP!!
Hey guys,
I came across an old post by Greg Reid yesterday. He had a couple articles about the Phaeton 90 that he distributed to about 50 people. He is not sure if he has them anymore, but I was wondering if someone has them from him or from another source. I am building the plane after Christmas and would love to see the articles.
Thanks,
Dion

RE: Phaeton 90 - reviews HELP!!
My first kit was a balsausa phaeton 90 w/ a homelite 33cc gasser. Made some changes to the N struts. Made them out of wood instead of the wire that comes with the kit. Flew true to scale. Used the bottom of a glow fuel jug for the cowl. My choice of covering was solartex natural & painted it black & shocking pink. Had no trouble seeing it.

Covered mine in Solartex also, excellent material. Put a Quadra 72 on mine (reinforced firewall of course) and enlarged rudder by 200% with some overhang. A great flyer and fun aircraft.

I flew mine with a saito 120, at 14 lbs. Had ailerons on both wings. Flew nice and slow. Covered in solartex all white and painted with rustoleum. I built it with incedences set at 0-0-0 (0 on both wings). Had a problem with floating in ground effect. Put in -2deg on the top wing with some 1/4" spacers on top of the rear strut legs and it was a whole different plane. Very easy and forgiving flight. Sold it to finance another project. I miss that plane and will probably build another.
