RE: My first kit!
Congrats on finishing your first kit. Ahh, there's nothing like the feeling of pride in finishing a kit. But now comes the hardest part. Watching it roll down the runway on that maiden flight, wondering if you got everything right in the build, trying to remember if you had that aileron throws correct, etc..... what a great feeling.
once again, good job on finishing it. It looks great

Thanks everyone, It took me around two months start to finish, but I had several long periods of down time. I went pretty quick overall.

Hey, looks great!
I've got a Uproar 60 ready for final sanding and covering. In fact my covering just arrived this afternoon. That Evolution 1.00 of yours should pull it around nicely. I went on the cheap and bought a Tower .75 for mine.
Good luck with the maiden. Be sure to post back how she flies.

RE: My first kit!
I've been 70-80% finished with my Uproar 60 for a few months. It's covered, nothing like the job you did, and needs all of the finishing touches: Attach tail feathers, install control surfaces, landing gear, engine, and radio. You would probably say I have it built to about the stage an ARF is when you open the box.
I've had too many distractions: House burglarized in October, job, holidays, job. The job should calm down in a few weeks; and I'll feel like working on the plane again. Right now my brain is fried and I feel I'd mess up if I worked on it.

Hi Beanutputter,
Can I ask you how your balance worked out? Mine seems like it is going to need a lot more weight in the tail. Just roughly checking it tonight with my Tower .75 engine which looks like it weighs about 5oz less than your Evo 1.00. Where did you place the Rx and battery? Did you have to add any lead or such to balance at the recommend CG of 5" back from the leading edge? If so, how much and where?
One other thing. What is your total weight?
Thanks,
