Default Ohio R/C 70" Extra 300s Tips

Just picked up this kit from a guy in my club. I noticed all the ribs/formers are solid with no lightning holes in them. Should I cut some out? Also, I was planning on an O.S. 160 but I think this may be a bit too much after browsing some old news group posts on Google, would something a little smaller be better?

Any other tips are greatly appreciated,
Scott G.

Scott, I'm building the 84" version and I did cut lightening holes in the ribs, but I really don't think I would do it again. It was a real PIA and didn't save very much weight.
