Default Next Kit????

Hi guys,
I am getting to the end of my 1/4 scale Cub and I am thinking about another kit, I am already missing the smell of balsa dust
I have plans for a 33% Cub but I want to build something that a little less time consuming than an all out scale project. I want a aerobatic kit that will handle a Magnum .91 4-stroke(alot of bang for the buck) the plane should look scale but without alot of extra work to get it there.
I am open to a mono wing or a bipe. I want plenty of vertical performance and good spin performance. Lets here the suggestions on a kit!!

Lanier Laser
Lot's of Topflight warbirds
Goldberg Ulimate 300 (but likes a slightly bigger engine)

The Sig Four Star 60 is easy to build and good for a lot of fun. Its not a 3D plane though. The plane is easy to bash to resemble many different scale planes including crop dusters. People also make Four Stars with enlarged control surfaces and they clip two panels off each wing.

The Bruce Thorp Venture 60 is another favorite. It's supposed to be an improvement on the Four Star.

Enjoy,

Jim

X-craft just built a Goldberg Chipmunk, powering it with a Magnum 91 4 stroke. His first flights were yesterday. It looks like this will be a very good combination. You'll find a build thead on RCSB, in the Other Kits section. http://www.rcscalebuilder.com/forum/...?TID=3140&PN=1

Tom,

I just registred there; thanks for the link. I've been looking for a "building forum".

Is that forum real anal about scale? IOW, must something be a "true scale" model to be discussed? I realize that a topic about one of those horrible SPAD things would probably not be well received... but what about "sorta-scale" kits like SkyBolts, AeroMasters, etc.?

Steve. RCSB is a friendly site. All skill levels are present. As long as it's scale, you're OK. Aeromasters wouldn't fit in.

I suggest reading a few threads. You'll get the jist of what is going on.

I think I found my next Kit,
I was checking out hookedonrc's Hog Bipe build and it looks like a fun plane. I know it doesn't look scale but It should look nice bashed into a Stearman.
It sounds like a Magnum 91 will make a nice combination in this plane.
Later!!

Nice plane, but nose it much too long to bash into a Stearman. Fiberglass Specialties and Stan's offer glass cowls that clean up the front end a lot. Great choice to fit your .91 4 stroke.
