4*60 Clipped Wing??
Question please: I'm building a 4*60 for my son and have considered clipping the wings. It is a 71 inch wing span and if I take out a section on each side it would put the span to 64 inches. The engine will be a 65 OS LA. The intent is to spice it up a bit.
Any thought or experiences doing this?
Thanks

I have had 2 and yes it will make your plane better to remove 1 rib from each side.
The 4-Stars with the stock wing fly like low wing trainers. With a rib removed, they roll faster, maneuver better and there doesn't seem to be any down side to the loss of wing area. The landings are still excellent. Your son will definitely like it better.
It could also use a little more rudder area. The moveable rudder is fairly small. It need at least an inch on the rear.
Get him a .91 for his next birthday.

I removed one bay from each side on mine and I was very happy with the way it flew. Some people remove two bays, but the landing speeds would be higher.
