Default Gizmo

Between repairs to my fleet (my son's home from college-need more be said?) a D&L Designs Gizmo - VERY nice kit. Very light wood and should come out pretty light for a .40+ fun type plane. Sort of resembles a Sig SE in that in has a two piece wing with tube connecting them through the fuse.

VERY well engineered, laser-cut, and clean plans....good one!

Jerry

PS Next should be a Doghouse Extreme - another good looking kit!

I am working on a Top Flight Giant Corsair. Long term project for sure!

Trying to fix the workshop at the same time makes it slow going

Magnum,

That is quite a project. I think one of your club members has built that one already - heck he has built almost ALL of TF's Warbirds..Bill Pendergraph.

Keep us posted as to the progress....nice flying bird from what I hear.

Just completed framing up a Morris Hobbies .60 Su-Do-Khoi. Great kit, hardware package & Instructions, not so great. Hope it flies half as good as they say. Going with a Saito .91 or a MVVS .77 for power, not sure yet.

I am building a Great Planes Easy Sport 40. Have it almost framed up and ready for covering. I chose to make it a tail dragger and I wasn't overly impressed with the kit but its lookin good now

Default kit

I am finishing up a Dymond large Tiger Moth (it was arc), but need to decide what I should build next. I have the choices down to three.

1. Platt Bucker Jungmiester powered by Saito 170 R3 radial
2. Holman Fw190D9 80 inch span with retracts and flaps
3. Aerotech International Avro Lancaster with retracts and flaps.

I am kinda leaning towards #2 or #3 because I finishing up my Tiggie so I'll have a bipe. Anyone built any of the above and have advice I'm all ears also. TIA

I'm currently building a Sig Smith MIniplane. It's been a challenge so far. About the only precut pieces are the wing ribs and a couple of formers.

http://www.bidinger.org/RC-Planes/10...ith_Miniplane/

I've got a 4*40, Venture 60, Sig SE, and a couple of Q500 pylon racers waiting to be built.

As if that wasn't enough I'm working on finishing up a foam core wing for my LT-40. The old wing was fine but I wanted to try some new things out. The new wing has almost all the dihedral removed. It's a foam core with balsa sheeting. I've also rigged it with barn door ailerons and flaps. I'm also planning on glassing and painting it.

I have to finish sand and cover a M.S. Models profile combat Spitfire .15 size. I have my next plane, the Dynaflite Super Decathlon with a 35cc gas ready to start after my next heli project!

So many model, so little time. Not to mention that I have to squeeze in that dirty four letter word.... WORK!

Default Kits to be built this winter...

I just finished a Unionville Hobby Supply 72" deHavilland Beaver and just need to make the mounts for my Great Planes floats.

I'm finishing up a Tower Fun-51 profile and will try to get it covered this week.

That leaves a few kits on the shelf to choose from for the coming winter months:
  • Adrian Page .60-size Gee Bee R2
  • Great Planes P-51D Mustang
  • Wing Mfg. Douglas A-26 Invader twin
  • Bud Nosen 105" Citabria
  • Two Tower Extra Special profile kits to be bashed into a twin-fuse twin. :-)

(I also have a couple of ARFs that need assembling: A Great Planes 1/4 scale Giles 202 and a World Models J-3 Cub 48.)
