Say hello to Tigger
Kit Bashed (well really not a kit) Sig Kadet. My Dad built an orange Kadet about 20 years ago. It has trained a few of us, rebuilt after the wings broke free pulling out of a loop (wing just floated down, but we had to dig the fuselage out of the cotton field), rebuilt again about 6 months ago after a receiver failure (every thing in front of the wing), and then a couple of months ago while it was flying with its high performance wing (straight semitrical) it died again. To bad to repair.
So, we were in need of another trainer (my son is 6, my daughter is 11 both still learning). So I was between projects. My Dad gave me the flat bottom wing, he took my piece of #(@*#$ KB 40 that I bought off of e-bay (bad purchase) and parted it out to fix the broken KB 40 that was also smashed pretty bad. We found the Kadet plans (old and yellow) and I compaired them to something I had drawn and started. He gave me a 20 year old box of balsa sticks (mostly 1/4 x 1/2) and some sheets. We scrounged up covering remenants and I went to work.
Kinda follows the general size and primary layout of the original Kadet. The cowling is fiberglass (home built, I posted my process on another thread). She is balanced and ready to go. It's amazing what you can do with a little left-overs.
