Lanier Ultimate Pitts
I was looking at this same plane in the tower cat. last night. From the name, is this a pitts model or an ultimate, or alittle of both? I have been looking at the carl goldberg ultimate but like the larger size of the lanier if the performance would be the same.

Built one-flew one-have one
If this helps you guys decide I have one in the basement.
It built up fine only a few changes made for my tastes.
No big problems noted finishing or setting up the wings for easy assembly.
The changes were:
Adding 1/16th sheeting to foward fuse below stringer.
I made I-beam webbing for the spars for extra strength.
Pinned the firewall for a tartin twin
Enlarged the rudder
Plane weighed in at 11lbs ready to go balance was perfect with all servos in tail and receiver and battery up front.
Flew only breif flights due to engine problems but it did quite well in all aspects. Dead stick landings 4x's without incident. No tendency to stall or drop a wing.
I will be putting a 2.4 zdz or equiv. this winter and will hopefully thrash it around in the spring

Is this design a good aerobatic plane? I goofed when I didnt know any better and built up a nice aeromaster thinking that it would be a good aerobatic plane only to be disapointed. I am now thinking to selling the aeromaster and building another bipe that I could grow with maybe even into the 3-d stuff If I would ever get that good.

luv bipes
If I were to sell my great planes super aeromaster do you have any idea what I should ask for it? It is in great shape with only about a dozen or two flights on it. I have an enya 90 4 stroke in it now. Also which plane would you think would be a better plane the lanier ultimate pitts or the carl goldberg untimate?
thanks

jjoos99,
The gb ultimate builds great and flys even better, it also slows down real nice for landings and will do anthing you can think of.
my 2 cents-

The CG Ultimate is a proven classic that will fly very well on a 91 2-stroke or 120 4-stroke engine. If you have the engine on hand and like the looks of the Ultimate, you can't go wrong w/ it.
Personally, I prefer the more rounded shape of the pitts line of aircraft. The Ultimate Pitts will, however, require a larger engine to power it well.
