Uproar or Fun 51?
I have a dirt runway at home and am going to build a fun flyer kit. The Tower Hobbies Uproar and Fun 51 Kits are both the same price, so which one should I get. I'm going to be using an OS .46LA, and want a fun, aerobatic plane that can take off and land in small spaces. Thanks for the input.

I guess it depends on your flying style. I prefer the Fun-51 because I can fly it real slow and do some 3D type stuff. The Uproar is fast and wild. Hard for my older reflexes. Both are a lot of bang for the buck. Have fun!

I like the Uproar due to it's semi-symetrical airfoil. Very forgiving, especially on slow approaches. You can drag it to your feet into a light breeze. The gear is the weak link on both designs, especially the '51......Mark

RE: Uproar or Fun 51?
KaosDriver is right about the gear being weak on the Fun 51. When I build one I cut away the balsa outer sheeting in the area of the LG and put in plywood reinforcement.
The Fun-51 build is very easy but you do have to do a lot of carving and sanding on the leading edge of the wing. I built a countoured sanding block to help with this.
I have never built an uproar.
